A privileged call to reparation
First Friday: Reparation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
The first Friday of the month is a privileged invitation to answer the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with worthy Holy Communion, gratitude, perseverance, and reparation for coldness, sacrilege, and ingratitude toward Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist. Our Lord entrusted this school of reparative love to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, and the Church has fostered it as a powerful means of drawing souls back to His Heart.
The Great Promise of the Sacred Heart
In the canonization record of St. Margaret Mary, Pope Benedict XV recounts Our Lord's promise that those who receive Holy Communion on the first Friday for nine consecutive months will be granted the benefit of final repentance: they will not die in His displeasure or without the sacraments, and His Heart will be their secure refuge in the last hour. This promise should awaken confidence, perseverance, and a more faithful sacramental life.

Answer the invitation today
When keeping the Nine First Fridays, prepare for worthy Holy Communion in the state of grace and offer it in reparation to the Sacred Heart. Let the nine months establish a continuing First Friday habit rather than mark an endpoint: after completing them, continue this reparative devotion whenever possible, answering the injuries of sin with lifelong gratitude, penance, and love. Whether or not Communion is possible today, make a reverent visit or spiritual Communion and offer hidden sacrifices in reparation.

“Mary is the Queen of heaven and earth by grace, as Jesus is the King of them by nature and by conquest.”
The distinction is exact and necessary: Jesus is King by His divine nature and by His redeeming conquest; Mary is Queen by grace. Her glory is never independent of His. Her interior reign serves His kingship by forming loyal subjects whose faith, worship, morals, and duties belong to Him without reserve.
Exterior honors are fitting, but St. Louis de Montfort says that Our Lady's kingdom is principally within the soul. Crowning an image while allowing an uncrowned passion to rule the heart is a contradiction. Give her the interior homage of repentance, recollection, purity, humility, obedience, and perseverance.

Offer the day before spending it
Prayer gives the day its right beginning and its right end. Before work, conversation, news, or distraction claims the mind, adore the Blessed Trinity and offer every prayer, work, joy, suffering, and temptation to Jesus through Mary. Ask your Guardian Angel for help, and place the souls and needs entrusted to you beneath God's will.
Begin simply. Make the Morning Offering through the hands of Our Lady. Pray the Three Hail Marys for purity and final perseverance, ask your Guardian Angel to govern the senses and imagination, and name the soul or intention for which today's prayers and sacrifices will be offered. Do not rush these acts merely because they are familiar; let them place the whole day beneath God before the world begins to claim it.
O Lord Jesus Christ, keep me faithful to Thy true worship. Through St. Boniface, give me courage to reject idols without hatred of persons and to labor for their conversion.

Ask St. Boniface for courage that serves souls. The axe is not hatred when it falls on the idol that keeps men from Christ.

Mary Is Mother of God and Mother of the Faithful
Remain here for a little while. Receive today's Catholic truth as a child of Holy Mother Church; let it judge the heart, strengthen the will, and become an act offered to God.
The Church places this truth before you today: The Blessed Virgin Mary is truly Mother of God, and her maternal office belongs to the order of Christ's Incarnation, Passion, and grace. Do not hurry past it as though doctrine belonged only to books and controversies. A revealed truth is also a light by which the soul must judge its loyalties, its fears, its habits, and the duties immediately before it. Marian doctrine protects the truth about Christ: one divine Person, truly God and truly man, born of the Virgin Mother.
The grace to be practiced is Eucharistic adoration and hunger, drawn from today's saintly witness. Ask God for more than the natural appearance of this virtue. Temperament may make an action seem easy for a time, but supernatural virtue remains faithful because God is worthy of obedience, even when feeling offers no assistance and no one notices the cost. Practice loyalty of heart by refusing every thought, desire, affection, or compromise that rebels against Christ's commandments.
There is also an enemy to recognize: Resist every thin devotion that praises Mary while separating her from doctrine, sacrifice, and the life of grace. Do not study this danger only in other people. Look quietly for the door by which it seeks entrance into your own soul - perhaps through delay, curiosity, resentment, human respect, attachment to comfort, or the desire to control the outcome. Dying to self today means choosing eucharistic adoration and hunger when pride, comfort, fear, resentment, or human respect asks for control.
Do the faithful act and entrust its fruit to divine Providence, God's wise and loving governance of all things. Place effort and outcome into Our Lady's hands so that the whole offering may be presented to her Divine Son. Confidence in God is not passivity: obey, pray, work, and accept that visible success, consolation, or immediate relief may not be given. God remains faithful when the duty is hidden and the outcome uncertain. Therefore, perform the duty that belongs to you, use the lawful means God has provided, and then surrender the fruit. Receive the discipline needed to dethrone pride and appetite, and persevere when interior reform is slow or painful. Join rightful exterior Marian devotion to complete interior amendment, sustained prayer, sound doctrine, and fidelity to every duty.
