This path is for Protestants and former Protestants who love Our Lord, trust Sacred Scripture, and have begun to ask whether Christ founded more than a private gathering of believers. Such a soul may have been taught to fear Catholic doctrine, Catholic worship, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the saints, confession, priesthood, or the authority of the Church. The first need is not argument for its own sake. It is patient light.

The Catholic answer begins with Christ. He did not leave the world only a book and many private interpreters. He founded a visible Church, gave authority to His Apostles, promised His assistance, commanded the nations to be taught, and established sacraments through which grace is truly given. Sacred Scripture is loved most rightly when it is received in the Church that Christ founded and not set against her.

This path therefore moves from Christ to His Church, from Scripture to authority, from private judgment to Catholic unity, and from suspicion of Catholic devotion to a more filial understanding of Our Lady, the saints, and the sacramental life. It should be read without panic and without contempt for one's past. Grace calls the soul forward into fuller obedience.

Begin With Christ And The Church

Begin with the question Our Lord Himself places before the soul: what did Christ found, and how is it known?

The Bible does not produce fragmentation when it is received according to the mind of the Church. Fragmentation arises when private judgment is made the final court of appeal.
