The Most Blessed Sacrament
Our Lord remains truly, really, and substantially present beneath the sacramental appearances. Let this month deepen Eucharistic faith, reverence at Mass, and reparation for neglect of the altar.

The Holy Angels
God has appointed His angels as ministers of His providence. Honor them by greater purity, recollection, and prompt obedience to grace, never forgetting that their whole service leads the soul to God.

Before a difficult duty or conversation, ask your Guardian Angel to help you act without sin and for God's glory.

Receive this day from God.
St. Joseph teaches holiness through quiet authority, chaste guardianship, prompt obedience, labor, and fatherly protection. God entrusted Jesus and Mary to his care; the faithful therefore learn from him that hidden duties can serve the greatest mysteries when they are received and performed under God.
Confess your poverty before God and ask through Our Lady for every grace needed to keep His commandments and fulfill all your duties.

“God the Father made an assemblage of all the waters, and He named it the sea (mare). He has made an assemblage of all His graces, and He has called it Mary (Maria).”
The image magnifies the abundance of God, not an independent abundance in a creature. Every grace belongs to Him and is purchased for us by Jesus Christ. Mary is called the treasury because God freely filled her and wills to employ her maternal intercession for Christ's members.
Come as one who is poor and needs grace for everything: faith, repentance, purity, prayer, patience, courage, and perseverance. Spiritual poverty is not minimalism. Because the need is great, the petition should be persevering and the cooperation generous.

Offer the day before spending it
Prayer gives the day its right beginning and its right end. Before work, conversation, news, or distraction claims the mind, adore the Blessed Trinity and offer every prayer, work, joy, suffering, and temptation to Jesus through Mary. Ask your Guardian Angel for help, and place the souls and needs entrusted to you beneath God's will.
Begin simply. Make the Morning Offering through the hands of Our Lady. Pray the Three Hail Marys for purity and final perseverance, ask your Guardian Angel to govern the senses and imagination, and name the soul or intention for which today's prayers and sacrifices will be offered. Do not rush these acts merely because they are familiar; let them place the whole day beneath God before the world begins to claim it.
O Lord, where Thou art forgotten, mocked, or coldly received, let me answer with prayer, penance, reverence, and love for Thy Sacred Heart.

At Rome, the holy martyrs Sulpicius and Servilian, who were converted to the faith of Christ by the discourses and the miracles of the holy virgin Domitilla. Having refused to sacrifice to the idols, they APRIL. Ill were beheaded by Anian, prefect of the city, in the persecution of Trajan. — The same day, the holy martyrs Victor, Zoticus, Zeno, Acindinus, Csesareus, Severian, Chrysophorus, Theonas, and Antoninus, who suffered martyrdom after undergoing various trials. — At Tomis, in Scy thia, St. Theotimus, bishop, whose great sanctity and miracles procured him the veneration of unbelieving barbarians. — At Embrun, in France, St. Marcellin, first bishop of that city, who by divine inspiration came from Africa with his holy companions Vincent and Domninus, and converted to the faith of Christ the greatest portion of the inhabitants of the maritime Alps, by his preaching and the wonderful prodigies, which he still continues to work. — At Auxerre, St. Marcian, a priest. — The same day, St. Theodore, confessor, surnamed Trichinas, from the rough hair garment which he wore. The Faith Must Be Confessed Publicly
Remain here for a little while. The purpose is not to gather another fact, but to allow today's Catholic truth to judge the heart, strengthen the will, and become an act offered to God.
The Church places this truth before you today: Catholic faith is not a private sentiment. It must be confessed, defended, and lived before men when duty requires it. Do not hurry past it as though doctrine belonged only to books and controversies. A revealed truth is also a light by which the soul must judge its loyalties, its fears, its habits, and the duties immediately before it. The Church is sent to all nations. Her public confession cannot be reduced to hidden feeling or private preference.
The grace to be practiced is Faithful obedience to the grace of the present day, drawn from the daily rule of fidelity. Ask God for more than the natural appearance of this virtue. Temperament may make an action seem easy for a time, but supernatural virtue remains faithful because God is worthy of obedience, even when feeling offers no assistance and no one notices the cost. Practice supernatural poverty by relying upon grace while using every lawful means God places within reach.
There is also an enemy to recognize: Resist cowardly peace when silence would imply consent to error. Do not study this danger only in other people. Look quietly for the door by which it seeks entrance into your own soul - perhaps through delay, curiosity, resentment, human respect, attachment to comfort, or the desire to control the outcome. Dying to self today means choosing faithful obedience to the grace of the present day when pride, comfort, fear, resentment, or human respect asks for control.
Do the faithful act and entrust its fruit to divine Providence, God's wise and loving governance of all things. Place effort and outcome into Our Lady's hands so that the whole offering may be presented to her Divine Son. Confidence in God is not passivity: obey, pray, work, and accept that visible success, consolation, or immediate relief may not be given. God remains faithful when the duty is hidden and the outcome uncertain. Therefore, perform the duty that belongs to you, use the lawful means God has provided, and then surrender the fruit. Let awareness of weakness drive you toward prayer and vigilance, never toward discouragement or lowered standards. Ask grace before all demanding duties and temptations, cooperate throughout them, and give thanks when they are completed.

“A meek knowing of ourself is a surer way to God than is the searching for highness of cunning.”
Learning serves holiness only when it makes the soul humbler before God. Receive truth as a disciple of Christ, not as material for self-display.
Do not measure profit by how much you can repeat. Ask whether what you have learned has made prayer more reverent, judgment more Catholic, speech more restrained, and duty more exact. Knowledge that never kneels easily becomes another possession of pride.

Keep good insights hidden when charity does not require speech, and turn them into prayer and amendment.
Before Night Falls
Return the completed day to God.
Give thanks before measuring the day by feeling or visible success. Ask light to see faults without discouragement, make an Act of Contrition, forgive injuries, and place tomorrow beneath divine Providence.
Name the graces received today and return them through Mary to the Father from whom every good gift descends.

Walk faithfully. Pray attentively. Bear your cross willingly. Love God above all things.

You do not walk alone: remain beside the Blessed Virgin as she leads you toward her Divine Son and the Heavenly Jerusalem.
