Sunday belongs first to the worship of God and the commemoration of the Resurrection. Adore the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, from Whom every grace descends and to Whom the whole Christian life must return.

Pentecost does not end when the octave passes. Its fruit must remain in the soul: public confession of truth, docility to apostolic doctrine, courage before false authority, and charity strong enough to resist error without bitterness.
Thank the Father for giving His Son, adore the Word made flesh, and ask the Holy Ghost to form Mary's faithful consent in you.

“God the Father has not given His Only-begotten to the world except by Mary.”
The Father is the source of the mission of the Son, and the Son is the one Redeemer. Yet the Incarnation was accomplished in the virginal womb and with Mary's free consent. God entered His creation through the fiat of the humble Virgin He had prepared.
Do not separate Marian devotion from the mystery it serves. Every Hail Mary should deepen faith in the Incarnate Word; every Rosary should make His life, Passion, and glory more governing; every recourse to His Mother should end in more complete obedience to Him.

Offer the day before spending it
Prayer gives the day its right beginning and its right end. Before work, conversation, news, or distraction claims the mind, adore the Blessed Trinity and offer every prayer, work, joy, suffering, and temptation to Jesus through Mary. Ask your Guardian Angel for help, and place the souls and needs entrusted to you beneath God's will.
Begin simply. Make the Morning Offering through the hands of Our Lady. Pray the Three Hail Marys for purity and final perseverance, ask your Guardian Angel to govern the senses and imagination, and name the soul or intention for which today's prayers and sacrifices will be offered. Do not rush these acts merely because they are familiar; let them place the whole day beneath God before the world begins to claim it.
O most holy Trinity, strengthen the faith given in Baptism. Teach me to speak of Thy mystery exactly, believe humbly, and worship with reverence.

At Langres, in France, the martyrdom of the holy bishop Desiderius, who visited the king as a suppliant in behalf of his people who were maltreated by the Vandal army. Being forthwith condemned to decapitation, he readily presented his neck, and being struck with the sword, died for the sheep committed to his charge and departed for heaven. Remain here for a little while. The purpose is not to gather another fact, but to allow today's Catholic truth to judge the heart, strengthen the will, and become an act offered to God.
The Church places this truth before you today: The Roman Primacy exists to guard, confirm, and govern in the apostolic faith; it is not license to create another religion. Do not hurry past it as though doctrine belonged only to books and controversies. A revealed truth is also a light by which the soul must judge its loyalties, its fears, its habits, and the duties immediately before it. True authority is recognized by its service to the deposit of faith, not by bare claims severed from Catholic doctrine.
The grace to be practiced is Adoring faith before revealed mystery, drawn from today's saintly witness. Ask God for more than the natural appearance of this virtue. Temperament may make an action seem easy for a time, but supernatural virtue remains faithful because God is worthy of obedience, even when feeling offers no assistance and no one notices the cost. Practice faith in the Incarnation by treating the words, commandments, and mysteries of Jesus Christ as the words of God made man.
There is also an enemy to recognize: Resist confusing the office Christ instituted with commands or claimants that attack the faith the office must protect. Do not study this danger only in other people. Look quietly for the door by which it seeks entrance into your own soul - perhaps through delay, curiosity, resentment, human respect, attachment to comfort, or the desire to control the outcome. Dying to self today means choosing adoring faith before revealed mystery when pride, comfort, fear, resentment, or human respect asks for control.
Do the faithful act and entrust its fruit to divine Providence, God's wise and loving governance of all things. Place effort and outcome into Our Lady's hands so that the whole offering may be presented to her Divine Son. Confidence in God is not passivity: obey, pray, work, and accept that visible success, consolation, or immediate relief may not be given. God remains faithful when the duty is hidden and the outcome uncertain. Therefore, perform the duty that belongs to you, use the lawful means God has provided, and then surrender the fruit. Accept the humility of God's approach: He came in hiddenness and asks fidelity that may also remain hidden. Carry the mysteries of the Rosary through all your duties, returning often to the words and actions of the Incarnate Son.

How shall I imitate Christ today?
“As long as we live in this world we may not be fully without temptation.”
The presence of temptation does not itself prove that you have consented or that prayer has failed. The Christian remains in warfare. Temptation humbles presumption, reveals the need for grace, and gives the will an occasion to prefer God in deed rather than merely in desire.
Do not converse needlessly with the temptation. Call upon Jesus and Mary, leave the occasion when you can, turn the imagination toward something lawful, and perform the nearest duty. If you fall, repent promptly; do not let wounded pride delay your return to mercy.
Today's Practice
Prepare a firm response for today's habitual temptation: an aspiration, departure from the occasion, and prompt return to duty.
Before Night Falls
Return the completed day to God.
Give thanks before measuring the day by feeling or visible success. Ask light to see faults without discouragement, make an Act of Contrition, forgive injuries, and place tomorrow beneath divine Providence.
Ask whether devotion to Our Lady led you more deeply into adoration, obedience, and love of her Divine Son.
