Receive this day from God.
Humiliation, opposition, and penance do not mean that God has ceased to govern. Our Lord redeemed the world through His obedient suffering on the Cross. When Catholics accept unavoidable trials without sin, perform penance, and continue obeying the truth, those sufferings can humble pride and deepen fidelity rather than lead to despair.
Entrust every known need and the unforeseen course of the day to Our Lady, asking for grace to obey whatever help she obtains.
Formation in True Devotion - Day 107: Five Marks of True Devotion
“It is tender; that is to say, full of confidence in her, like a child's confidence in his loving mother. This confidence makes the soul have recourse to her in all its bodily or mental necessities, with much simplicity, trust, and tenderness.”
Filial confidence brings the whole life to Mary: doubts, wanderings, temptations, weakness, falls, discouragement, scruples, crosses, toil, disappointment, and bodily or mental suffering. Nothing is too ordinary for maternal intercession, and no genuine need should be hidden through pride or false self-sufficiency.
This tenderness is neither presumption nor escape from duty. Our Lady enlightens so that truth may be obeyed, supports so that temptation may be resisted, lifts the fallen so that repentance may begin, and consoles so that the cross may be carried with Jesus. Confident recourse must therefore issue in action, amendment, and perseverance.

Offer the day before spending it
Prayer gives the day its right beginning and its right end. Before work, conversation, news, or distraction claims the mind, adore the Blessed Trinity and offer every prayer, work, joy, suffering, and temptation to Jesus through Mary. Ask your Guardian Angel for help, and place the souls and needs entrusted to you beneath God's will.
Begin simply. Make the Morning Offering through the hands of Our Lady. Pray the Three Hail Marys for purity and final perseverance, ask your Guardian Angel to govern the senses and imagination, and name the soul or intention for which today's prayers and sacrifices will be offered. Do not rush these acts merely because they are familiar; let them place the whole day beneath God before the world begins to claim it.
O Lord, do not let me be satisfied with appearances when Thy glory is absent. Teach me to seek worship that is true, reverent, sacrificial, and received.

The Lenten feria is not empty time between Sundays. In the Roman rite, Lent gives proper Masses to the ferias, forming the faithful by daily penance, prayer, almsgiving, and conversion.
These weekdays teach that penance is not a mood but a discipline. The Church trains the whole man: appetite, speech, memory, habits, and the will turned back to God.
Do not despise the ordinary Lenten weekday. Small faithful penance is one of the roads by which exile becomes pilgrimage.

Remain here for a little while. The purpose is not to gather another fact, but to allow today's Catholic truth to judge the heart, strengthen the will, and become an act offered to God.
The Church places this truth before you today: The Church must be one, holy, Catholic, and apostolic because she bears the identity Christ gave her, not because men assign those titles by preference. Do not hurry past it as though doctrine belonged only to books and controversies. A revealed truth is also a light by which the soul must judge its loyalties, its fears, its habits, and the duties immediately before it. The marks are tests of recognition. They prevent the faithful from confusing religious intensity, social size, antiquarian taste, or institutional claims with the true Church.
The grace to be practiced is Daily penance and conversion, drawn from today's saintly witness. Ask God for more than the natural appearance of this virtue. Temperament may make an action seem easy for a time, but supernatural virtue remains faithful because God is worthy of obedience, even when feeling offers no assistance and no one notices the cost. Practice filial confidence by bringing all necessities to Mary with simplicity, trust, tenderness, gratitude, and readiness to act.
There is also an enemy to recognize: Resist treating the marks as poetic language detached from visible doctrine, worship, and apostolic continuity. Do not study this danger only in other people. Look quietly for the door by which it seeks entrance into your own soul - perhaps through delay, curiosity, resentment, human respect, attachment to comfort, or the desire to control the outcome. Dying to self today means choosing daily penance and conversion when pride, comfort, fear, resentment, or human respect asks for control.
Do the faithful act and entrust its fruit to divine Providence, God's wise and loving governance of all things. Place effort and outcome into Our Lady's hands so that the whole offering may be presented to her Divine Son. Confidence in God is not passivity: obey, pray, work, and accept that visible success, consolation, or immediate relief may not be given. God remains faithful when the duty is hidden and the outcome uncertain. Therefore, perform the duty that belongs to you, use the lawful means God has provided, and then surrender the fruit. Refuse both anxious isolation and presumptuous passivity, receiving maternal consolation as strength to bear the cross faithfully. Invoke Our Lady throughout prayer, decisions, temptations, fatigue, labor, relationships, suffering, and every demand of duty.

How shall I imitate Christ today?
“Thou hast here no place of long abiding, for wheresoever thou be, thou art but a stranger and a pilgrim.”
The citizen of Heaven uses earthly goods faithfully without building his final home in them. Receive the day's joys and sorrows as provisions for the road.
Exile becomes bitter when the soul demands permanence from what must pass. Let today's change, disappointment, or small loss remind you gently of your destination. Fulfill earthly duties well precisely because they are the road appointed by God, but keep the heart free for the City that does not pass away.

Before Night Falls
Return the completed day to God.
Give thanks before measuring the day by feeling or visible success. Ask light to see faults without discouragement, make an Act of Contrition, forgive injuries, and place tomorrow beneath divine Providence.
Recall how often you sought maternal help, how faithfully you acted upon grace, and where pride or discouragement resisted confidence.
