Thursday recalls the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the priesthood at the Last Supper. Adore Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and pray for priests, through whose consecrated ministry the Holy Sacrifice is offered.

For holy priests, worthy Communions, vocations, and reparation for neglect and sacrilege toward the Blessed Sacrament.

Make a visit or spiritual Communion and pray especially for priests by name.

Receive this day from God.
Love for relatives and friends is tested when peace seems to require silence about eternal things. Catholic charity neither quarrels needlessly nor purchases affection by pretending error is harmless. Pray by name for the souls entrusted to you, speak when duty and prudence call, and entrust the result to God.
Acknowledge that God is the source of every grace and has freely willed that His graces should come to us through the hands of Our Blessed Mother. Ask her to obtain the help needed to serve her Son today.
Formation in True Devotion - Day 320: Review and Deepening: Consecrated Life through Mary to Jesus
“It is not that we take her for the last end of our services, for that is Jesus Christ alone; but we take her for our proximate end, our mysterious means and our easy way to go to Him.”
Here St. Louis de Montfort guards true devotion from every distortion: Jesus Christ alone is the end. Mary never asks the soul to stop with her. Like her word at Cana, her maternal office is a continual direction toward obedience: do whatsoever He shall say to you.
Let this give you both confidence and order. You need not approach the duties of grace as an orphan relying upon personal strength. Go to Jesus beside the Mother He gave you, but go prepared to hear Him, to renounce sin, to receive Catholic truth whole, and to obey.

Offer the day before spending it
Prayer gives the day its right beginning and its right end. Before work, conversation, news, or distraction claims the mind, adore the Blessed Trinity and offer every prayer, work, joy, suffering, and temptation to Jesus through Mary. Ask your Guardian Angel for help, and place the souls and needs entrusted to you beneath God's will.
Begin simply. Make the Morning Offering through the hands of Our Lady. Pray the Three Hail Marys for purity and final perseverance, ask your Guardian Angel to govern the senses and imagination, and name the soul or intention for which today's prayers and sacrifices will be offered. Do not rush these acts merely because they are familiar; let them place the whole day beneath God before the world begins to claim it.
O Lord, teach fathers, mothers, pastors, rulers, and children to receive authority as service beneath Thee, not as power against Thee.

At Rome, the holy martyrs Evagrius, Priscian, and their companions. — At Ravenna, on the Lauretine road, the birthday of St. Edistius, martyr. — In Lycia, St. Domnina, martyr, under the emperor Diocletian. — In Africa, four thousand nine hundred and sixtysix holy confessors and martyrs, in the persecution of the Vandals under the Arian king Hunneric. Some of them were bishops, some priests and deacons, with a multitude of the faithful accompanying them, who were driven into a frightful wilderness for the defence of the Catholic truth. Many of them were cruelly annoyed by the Moorish leaders, and with sharp-pointed spears and stones forced to hasten their march, whilst others, with their feet tied, were dragged like corpses through rough places and mangled in all their limbs. They were finally tortured in different manners, and won the honors of martyrdom. The principal among them were the bishops Felix and Cyprian. — At Cilly, in Styria, St. Maximilian, bishop of Lorch. — At York, in England, St. Wilfrid, bishop and confessor, — At Milan, St. Monas, bishop. The Holy Ghost Does Not Author Contradiction
Remain here for a little while. The purpose is not to gather another fact, but to allow today's Catholic truth to judge the heart, strengthen the will, and become an act offered to God.
The Church places this truth before you today: The Holy Ghost guides the Church into truth; He does not lead her to contradict the faith once delivered. Do not hurry past it as though doctrine belonged only to books and controversies. A revealed truth is also a light by which the soul must judge its loyalties, its fears, its habits, and the duties immediately before it. Appeals to the Spirit must be judged by apostolic doctrine, not by enthusiasm, novelty, or institutional pressure.
The grace to be practiced is Faithful obedience to the grace of the present day, drawn from the daily rule of fidelity. Ask God for more than the natural appearance of this virtue. Temperament may make an action seem easy for a time, but supernatural virtue remains faithful because God is worthy of obedience, even when feeling offers no assistance and no one notices the cost. Imitate Mary's gratitude. Magnify the Lord for His gifts instead of turning them into a reason for self-esteem.
There is also an enemy to recognize: Resist invoking the Holy Ghost to justify rupture from received doctrine. Do not study this danger only in other people. Look quietly for the door by which it seeks entrance into your own soul - perhaps through delay, curiosity, resentment, human respect, attachment to comfort, or the desire to control the outcome. Dying to self today means choosing faithful obedience to the grace of the present day when pride, comfort, fear, resentment, or human respect asks for control.
Do the faithful act and entrust its fruit to divine Providence, God's wise and loving governance of all things. Place effort and outcome into Our Lady's hands so that the whole offering may be presented to her Divine Son. Confidence in God is not passivity: obey, pray, work, and accept that visible success, consolation, or immediate relief may not be given. God remains faithful when the duty is hidden and the outcome uncertain. Therefore, perform the duty that belongs to you, use the lawful means God has provided, and then surrender the fruit. When consolation is absent, trust the order of divine Providence. Our Lady remains a Mother in darkness as surely as in joy. Give thanks before beginning, ask Mary's help while working, and return the completed act to Jesus without claiming it as your own.

How shall I imitate Christ today?
“Thou alone art the true refection of the soul, and he that worthily eateth Thee shall be partaker and heir of eternal glory.”
The Blessed Sacrament is not one devotion among many: it is Jesus Christ, the soul's true food. Let every Marian offering lead you more faithfully to her Eucharistic Son.
If you can assist at Mass and receive worthily, approach with recollection and hunger rather than habit. If you cannot, do not allow absence to become forgetfulness. Turn toward the tabernacle, confess your desire, and ask Our Lady to prepare in you a more faithful welcome for Jesus.

Make a reverent Spiritual Communion, or prepare carefully for Holy Communion if you will receive today.
Before Night Falls
Return the completed day to God.
Give thanks before measuring the day by feeling or visible success. Ask light to see faults without discouragement, make an Act of Contrition, forgive injuries, and place tomorrow beneath divine Providence.
Make your Magnificat in little: name God's mercies, diminish self, and entrust tomorrow to the Mother He has given you.

Go Now, Pilgrim
Walk faithfully. Pray attentively. Bear your cross willingly. Love God above all things.

You do not walk alone: remain beside the Blessed Virgin as she leads you toward her Divine Son and the Heavenly Jerusalem.
