A privileged call to reparation
First Saturday: Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
The first Saturday of the month is Our Lady's tender and urgent invitation to make reparation to her Immaculate Heart. She asks the faithful to confess, receive Holy Communion, pray five decades of the Rosary, and keep her company for fifteen minutes while meditating upon its mysteries, on five consecutive first Saturdays. Mary keeps nothing for herself: she gathers souls beneath her mantle in order to form them for Jesus Christ, hatred of sin, and perseverance beneath His Cross.
Our Lady's First Saturday Promise
In the devotion officially published by the Bishop of Leiria in 1939, Our Lady promises to assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, those who fulfill the requested acts on the first Saturday of five consecutive months. This maternal promise calls the soul to reparation, sacramental fidelity, the Rosary, and persevering companionship with Mary in the mysteries of her Divine Son.

The intention
In reparation for blasphemy, ingratitude, impurity, and contempt directed against Our Lady; for the conversion of sinners; and for the grace to imitate her recollection, purity, obedience, and unwavering fidelity to Jesus Christ.
Answer the invitation today
With the intention of making reparation, confess within the permitted time, receive Holy Communion worthily, pray five decades of the Rosary, and keep Our Lady company for fifteen minutes while meditating upon the mysteries of the Rosary. If sacramental participation is impossible today, begin with the acts that are possible and ask for the grace to keep the complete devotion faithfully.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, keep me with thee in the mysteries of Jesus. Obtain for me purity of heart, hatred of sin and heresy, fidelity to the Catholic Faith, and perseverance beneath the Cross. Place this day's prayer and sacrifice in the hands of thy Divine Son.

The Blessed Virgin Mary
Saturday is kept in filial remembrance of Our Lady, who remained faithful when Our Lord lay hidden in the tomb. Walk with Mary toward Jesus by imitating her faith, purity, recollection, and perseverance.

For growth in true devotion to Mary, the conversion of sinners, the protection of purity, and perseverance in the Catholic Faith.
A faithful act
Set the goal of praying the complete traditional Rosary today: all fifteen decades of the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries. Offer it for a definite intention, especially for the conversion and salvation of sinners. If the duties of your state require it, pray its three parts at different hours, but persevere toward completing the whole Rosary. Souls are in need: at Fatima, Our Lady warned that many souls go to hell because there is no one to make sacrifices and pray for them.

Blessed Mother, keep me under thy mantle, receive this day into thy hands, and lead me in all things to Jesus.

The Church learns her own shape in Our Lady: faith that receives, sorrow that remains, purity that refuses compromise, and hope that waits beneath the Cross. Marian days teach the pilgrim not sentimentality, but Catholic formation under the Mother of God.

Formation in True Devotion - Day 63: Review and Deepening: The Trinity's Order of Grace through Mary
“God the Father made an assemblage of all the waters, and He named it the sea (mare). He has made an assemblage of all His graces, and He has called it Mary (Maria).”
The image magnifies the abundance of God, not an independent abundance in a creature. Every grace belongs to Him and is purchased for us by Jesus Christ. Mary is called the treasury because God freely filled her and wills to employ her maternal intercession for Christ's members.
Come as one who is poor and needs grace for everything: faith, repentance, purity, prayer, patience, courage, and perseverance. Spiritual poverty is not minimalism. Because the need is great, the petition should be persevering and the cooperation generous.

Offer the day before spending it
Prayer gives the day its right beginning and its right end. Before work, conversation, news, or distraction claims the mind, adore the Blessed Trinity and offer every prayer, work, joy, suffering, and temptation to Jesus through Mary. Ask your Guardian Angel for help, and place the souls and needs entrusted to you beneath God's will.
Begin simply. Make the Morning Offering through the hands of Our Lady. Pray the Three Hail Marys for purity and final perseverance, ask your Guardian Angel to govern the senses and imagination, and name the soul or intention for which today's prayers and sacrifices will be offered. Do not rush these acts merely because they are familiar; let them place the whole day beneath God before the world begins to claim it.
O Lord, do not permit me to admire truth without submitting to it. Give me the courage to obey what Thou hast already made known.

“The old man Simeon bore the new-born Christ, and all the while, Christ was the old man's Lord.”

The Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, called by the Greeks Hypapante (meeting) of the Lord. — At Rome, on the Salarian road, the passion of St. Apronian, a notary. Whilst he was yet a Gentile, and was leading St. Sisinius out of prison, to present him before the governor Laodicius, he heard a voice from heaven saying, "Come ye, the blessed of my Father, possess the kingdom prepared for you from the beginning of the world." At once he believed, was baptized, and after confessing our Lord, received sentence of death. — Also, at Rome, the holy martyrs Fortunatus, Felician, Firmus and Candidus. — At Caesarea, in Palestine, St. Cornelius, a centurion, whom the blessed apostle Peter baptized, and raised to the episcopal dignity in that city. — At Orleans, the holy bishop Flosculus. — At Canterbury, in England, the birthday of St. Lawrence, bishop, who succeeded St. Augustine in the government of that church, and converted the king himself to the faith.

Obedience, humility, and the offering of Christ.
Forty days after Christ's birth, Mary and Joseph brought Him to the temple in Jerusalem. The law of Moses directed a mother to complete a rite of purification after childbirth and directed parents to present a firstborn son to God.
Mary had no personal sin from which to be cleansed, and Jesus was already the Son of God. They nevertheless fulfilled the law humbly. Their obedience reveals Christ as the promised Light and offers Him publicly to the Father.

Hold the Traditions
Remain here for a little while. The purpose is not to gather another fact, but to allow today's Catholic truth to judge the heart, strengthen the will, and become an act offered to God.
The Church places this truth before you today: Apostolic tradition is not nostalgia. It is the handing down of what the Church received from Christ and the Apostles. Do not hurry past it as though doctrine belonged only to books and controversies. A revealed truth is also a light by which the soul must judge its loyalties, its fears, its habits, and the duties immediately before it. Tradition protects the faithful from the tyranny of the present moment and from teachers who mistake novelty for life.
The grace to be practiced is Humble obedience in hidden duty, drawn from today's saintly witness. Ask God for more than the natural appearance of this virtue. Temperament may make an action seem easy for a time, but supernatural virtue remains faithful because God is worthy of obedience, even when feeling offers no assistance and no one notices the cost. Practice supernatural poverty by relying upon grace while using every lawful means God places within reach.
There is also an enemy to recognize: Resist innovation that claims continuity while contradicting what was handed down. Do not study this danger only in other people. Look quietly for the door by which it seeks entrance into your own soul - perhaps through delay, curiosity, resentment, human respect, attachment to comfort, or the desire to control the outcome. Dying to self today means choosing humble obedience in hidden duty when pride, comfort, fear, resentment, or human respect asks for control.
Do the faithful act and entrust its fruit to divine Providence, God's wise and loving governance of all things. Place effort and outcome into Our Lady's hands so that the whole offering may be presented to her Divine Son. Confidence in God is not passivity: obey, pray, work, and accept that visible success, consolation, or immediate relief may not be given. God remains faithful when the duty is hidden and the outcome uncertain. Therefore, perform the duty that belongs to you, use the lawful means God has provided, and then surrender the fruit. Let awareness of weakness drive you toward prayer and vigilance, never toward discouragement or lowered standards. Ask grace before all demanding duties and temptations, cooperate throughout them, and give thanks when they are completed.

Truth does not become true through fashion, applause, or a celebrated name. Test what you hear by revelation and the perennial teaching of the Church.
Yet à Kempis also rebukes the curiosity that collects authorities without receiving their doctrine. Listen for the truth God is giving through a trustworthy witness, and then permit that truth to correct you. The name of a saint should not become decoration around an unchanged life.
Today's Practice
Reject claims based on novelty or popularity and ask what the Church has always taught.
Before Night Falls
Return the completed day to God.
Give thanks before measuring the day by feeling or visible success. Ask light to see faults without discouragement, make an Act of Contrition, forgive injuries, and place tomorrow beneath divine Providence.
Name the graces received today and return them through Mary to the Father from whom every good gift descends.
