Saturday is kept in filial remembrance of Our Lady, who remained faithful when Our Lord lay hidden in the tomb. Walk with Mary toward Jesus by imitating her faith, purity, recollection, and perseverance.

For growth in true devotion to Mary, the conversion of sinners, the protection of purity, and perseverance in the Catholic Faith.
A faithful act
Set the goal of praying the complete traditional Rosary today: all fifteen decades of the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries. Offer it for a definite intention, especially for the conversion and salvation of sinners. If the duties of your state require it, pray its three parts at different hours, but persevere toward completing the whole Rosary. Souls are in need: at Fatima, Our Lady warned that many souls go to hell because there is no one to make sacrifices and pray for them.

Ss. Peter and Paul show the visible apostolic order Christ gave His Church: the faith is confessed, authority is received, the Gospel is carried to the nations, and witness is sealed by suffering. Love for the Church therefore rejects both private religion and office emptied of fidelity to revealed truth.
Ask God for light to understand true devotion and humility to correct every belief, expression, motive, or practice that lacks solidity.

“I must now show in what this devotion consists. This I will do, by God's help, after I shall have first presupposed some fundamental truths, which shall throw light on that grand and solid devotion which I desire to disclose.”
True devotion requires discernment. Intensity of feeling, abundance of words, attachment to an image, or multiplication of practices cannot establish its truth. St. Louis de Montfort begins with fundamental truths because devotion must rest upon revealed doctrine and lead the entire soul into God's order.
Let the course examine you rather than merely informing you. Be ready to reject presumption, scrupulosity, superstition, spiritual vanity, curiosity, inconsistency, and every Marian expression that obscures Christ. Grand devotion is also solid: doctrinally exact, sacramental, virtuous, persevering, and fruitful in duty and charity.

Offer the day before spending it
Prayer gives the day its right beginning and its right end. Before work, conversation, news, or distraction claims the mind, adore the Blessed Trinity and offer every prayer, work, joy, suffering, and temptation to Jesus through Mary. Ask your Guardian Angel for help, and place the souls and needs entrusted to you beneath God's will.
Begin simply. Make the Morning Offering through the hands of Our Lady. Pray the Three Hail Marys for purity and final perseverance, ask your Guardian Angel to govern the senses and imagination, and name the soul or intention for which today's prayers and sacrifices will be offered. Do not rush these acts merely because they are familiar; let them place the whole day beneath God before the world begins to claim it.
O Lord Jesus Christ, through Ss. Peter and Paul, keep me firm in the apostolic Faith and generous in labor for souls. Give me hatred of heresy without hatred of persons and perseverance beneath the order Thou established.

Within the city the former was crucified with his dead downwards, and buried in the Vatican, near the Triumphal way, where he is venerated by the whole world. St. Paul preached Christ to the nations, suffered chains and persecution for the Gospel, and was beheaded for the faith at Rome. Together they show that apostolic authority and apostolic mission are inseparable from suffering for truth.

Mary Is Mother of God and Mother of the Faithful
Remain here for a little while. The purpose is not to gather another fact, but to allow today's Catholic truth to judge the heart, strengthen the will, and become an act offered to God.
The Church places this truth before you today: The Blessed Virgin Mary is truly Mother of God, and her maternal office belongs to the order of Christ's Incarnation, Passion, and grace. Do not hurry past it as though doctrine belonged only to books and controversies. A revealed truth is also a light by which the soul must judge its loyalties, its fears, its habits, and the duties immediately before it. Marian doctrine protects the truth about Christ: one divine Person, truly God and truly man, born of the Virgin Mother.
The grace to be practiced is Apostolic firmness and missionary charity, drawn from today's saintly witness. Ask God for more than the natural appearance of this virtue. Temperament may make an action seem easy for a time, but supernatural virtue remains faithful because God is worthy of obedience, even when feeling offers no assistance and no one notices the cost. Practice teachability by receiving fundamental Catholic truths before trusting preference, emotion, habit, private interpretation, or appearance.
There is also an enemy to recognize: Resist every thin devotion that praises Mary while separating her from doctrine, sacrifice, and the life of grace. Do not study this danger only in other people. Look quietly for the door by which it seeks entrance into your own soul - perhaps through delay, curiosity, resentment, human respect, attachment to comfort, or the desire to control the outcome. Dying to self today means choosing apostolic firmness and missionary charity when pride, comfort, fear, resentment, or human respect asks for control.
Do the faithful act and entrust its fruit to divine Providence, God's wise and loving governance of all things. Place effort and outcome into Our Lady's hands so that the whole offering may be presented to her Divine Son. Confidence in God is not passivity: obey, pray, work, and accept that visible success, consolation, or immediate relief may not be given. God remains faithful when the duty is hidden and the outcome uncertain. Therefore, perform the duty that belongs to you, use the lawful means God has provided, and then surrender the fruit. Accept the loss of cherished religious ideas or practices if careful examination shows them to be false, exaggerated, or disordered. Make every devotion doctrinally sound, centered upon Christ, joined to Catholic worship, and fruitful throughout all commandments and duties.

“The most noble and the most perfect victory is for a man to have the victory of himself.”
Victory over others can feed pride; victory over self-will makes room for Christ. Ask for the grace to conquer the fault that most often conquers you.
Choose the fault by its frequency, not by how dramatic it appears. The repeated impatient tone, indulgent thought, delayed prayer, or unnecessary complaint may govern more of life than a rare great trial. Meet it today at its first small demand, while grace makes refusal possible.

Before Night Falls
Return the completed day to God.
Give thanks before measuring the day by feeling or visible success. Ask light to see faults without discouragement, make an Act of Contrition, forgive injuries, and place tomorrow beneath divine Providence.
Examine the foundations beneath your devotional life and ask for grace to rebuild every unstable part upon revealed truth.
