The Most Blessed Sacrament
Our Lord remains truly, really, and substantially present beneath the sacramental appearances. Let this month deepen Eucharistic faith, reverence at Mass, and reparation for neglect of the altar.
Intention
For worthy Communions, holy priests, reparation for sacrilege, and the restoration of faith in the Real Presence.
A faithful act
Make a reverent visit to the Blessed Sacrament, or pause for a deliberate spiritual Communion when a visit is not possible.
Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, increase our faith and receive our adoration and reparation.
Wednesday remembrance
St. Joseph
Midweek, turn to St. Joseph, whose hidden labor guarded Jesus and Mary. He teaches authority without self-importance, work without complaint, and silence joined to decisive obedience.

For fathers, laborers, families, the protection of the Church, and those approaching death.
A faithful act
Do necessary tasks thoroughly without seeking notice or praise.
Prayer
St. Joseph, patron of the universal Church, guard our homes and obtain for us purity, courage, and a holy death.

The prophet Ezechiel, who was put to death in Babylon by the Judge of the people of Israel, because he reproved him for worshipping idols. He was buried in the sepulchre of Sem and Arphaxad, Abraham's ancestors. To his tomb many were wont to resort for the purpose of prayer. — At Rome, the birthday of many holy martyrs, whom pope St. Alexander baptized whilst he was detained in prison. The prefect Aurelian had them all put in an old ship, taken to the deep sea, and plunged into it with stones tied to their necks. — At Alexandria, the holy martyrs Apollonius, priest, and five others, who, in the persecution of Maximian, were drowned in the sea. — In Africa, under the emperor Decius and the prefect Fortunian, the holy martyrs Terentius, African, Pompey, and their companions, who were scourged, racked, and subjected to other torments. Their martyrdom ended by decapitation. — The same day, St. Macarius, bishop of Antioch, celebrated for virtues and miracles. — At Valladolid, in Spain, St. Michael of the Saints, confessor, of the Order of Discalced Trinitarians for the Redemption of Captives, a man remarkable for integrity of life, for the penitential spirit, and for great love of God. The Passiontide Feria
The veiled days near the Passion of Our Lord.
The ferias of Passiontide draw the faithful nearer to the sufferings of Christ, when the Church's prayer grows more grave and the Cross comes into sharper view.
These days teach that the Passion is not only remembered on Good Friday. The soul is led step by step into compunction, reparation, silence, and fidelity to the rejected Messias.
This is a good time to stop explaining away small betrayals. Passiontide asks the soul to look at sin near the wounds of Christ, where excuses lose their power and mercy becomes grave and beautiful.
Virtue to practice
Compunction and reparation.
Error to resist
The shallow Lent that wants discipline without entering the sorrow and love of the Passion.
For the pilgrim in exile
Walk more quietly now. Passiontide teaches the exile to stay near Christ when His glory is veiled and His enemies gather.
Imitate today
- Make an act of reparation to the suffering Christ.
- Keep a little silence in honor of His Passion.
- Accept contradictions without complaint.
- Name your sins plainly before God and ask for hatred of them.

Meditation
The Cross in Exile
Humiliation, opposition, and penance do not mean that God has ceased to govern. Our Lord redeemed the world through His obedient suffering on the Cross. When Catholics accept unavoidable trials without sin, perform penance, and continue obeying the truth, those sufferings can humble pride and deepen fidelity rather than lead to despair.
