Receive this day from God.
At Pentecost the Holy Ghost strengthened the apostles to preach Christ publicly and carry the Gospel to the nations. His work is not private excitement separated from doctrine, worship, and the authority Christ established. The faithful should ask Him for zeal that makes them more obedient to revealed truth, more constant in charity, and more courageous in Catholic witness.
Profess faith in Jesus Christ as true God and true man, and ask His Mother to lead you into complete obedience to Him.

“Jesus Christ is not known as He ought to be.”
St. Louis de Montfort's grief is not that Our Lady receives too little attention as though she sought a kingdom apart from Christ. He grieves because ignorance of Mary's place accompanies an impoverished knowledge of Jesus. The Son is treated as an idea, a moral teacher, or a source of comfort rather than as the Incarnate King who came through her and demands the whole man.
Ask whether you know Christ only in the truths you prefer. To know Him as He ought to be known is to receive His divinity, His Cross, His Church, His commandments, His sacraments, His judgment, and His mercy without division. Let Mary uncover every partial or comfortable image of Jesus that must give way to the Catholic whole.

Offer the day before spending it
Prayer gives the day its right beginning and its right end. Before work, conversation, news, or distraction claims the mind, adore the Blessed Trinity and offer every prayer, work, joy, suffering, and temptation to Jesus through Mary. Ask your Guardian Angel for help, and place the souls and needs entrusted to you beneath God's will.
Begin simply. Make the Morning Offering through the hands of Our Lady. Pray the Three Hail Marys for purity and final perseverance, ask your Guardian Angel to govern the senses and imagination, and name the soul or intention for which today's prayers and sacrifices will be offered. Do not rush these acts merely because they are familiar; let them place the whole day beneath God before the world begins to claim it.
O Lord Jesus, through St. Bernardine, govern my speech and conduct. Let my use of Thy Holy Name be reverent, and let my example support what I profess.

Roman Breviary, Proper lessons for St. Bernardine of Siena
“In the Name of Jesus, that Name which he ever bore upon his lips and in his heart.”
- The Breviary shows St. Bernardine as formed by devotion to the Blessed Virgin, charity to the sick, service in plague, hidden prayer, and Franciscan humility.
- When he was commanded to preach, God freed him from the hindrance of his voice, and he became a reforming preacher in an Italy wounded by vice, crime, and civil wars.

As she refused to marry him, he accused her of being a Christian. The emperor Gallienus gave orders that she should accept him or die by the sword. “Let your loins be girt, and lamps burning in your hands.”
Ask St. Bernardine for a burning lamp, not merely a loud voice. Holy speech should leave the soul nearer to God.

Valid Sacraments Are a Grave Priority
Remain here for a little while. The purpose is not to gather another fact, but to allow today's Catholic truth to judge the heart, strengthen the will, and become an act offered to God.
The Church places this truth before you today: The faithful must seek valid sacraments with prudence, sacrifice, and holy seriousness, without inventing sacraments or despising them. Do not hurry past it as though doctrine belonged only to books and controversies. A revealed truth is also a light by which the soul must judge its loyalties, its fears, its habits, and the duties immediately before it. Families often move for work, schools, or safety. The sacraments are a higher good, and should weigh heavily in practical decisions when God makes such a move possible.
The grace to be practiced is Docility to the Spirit of truth, drawn from today's saintly witness. Ask God for more than the natural appearance of this virtue. Temperament may make an action seem easy for a time, but supernatural virtue remains faithful because God is worthy of obedience, even when feeling offers no assistance and no one notices the cost. Practice integrity of faith: receive Christ whole rather than selecting only what consoles or agrees with the age.
There is also an enemy to recognize: Resist home-alone despair when it becomes settled indifference to seeking valid sacraments. Do not study this danger only in other people. Look quietly for the door by which it seeks entrance into your own soul - perhaps through delay, curiosity, resentment, human respect, attachment to comfort, or the desire to control the outcome. Dying to self today means choosing docility to the Spirit of truth when pride, comfort, fear, resentment, or human respect asks for control.
Do the faithful act and entrust its fruit to divine Providence, God's wise and loving governance of all things. Place effort and outcome into Our Lady's hands so that the whole offering may be presented to her Divine Son. Confidence in God is not passivity: obey, pray, work, and accept that visible success, consolation, or immediate relief may not be given. God remains faithful when the duty is hidden and the outcome uncertain. Therefore, perform the duty that belongs to you, use the lawful means God has provided, and then surrender the fruit. Accept the cost of belonging to the real Christ when the world offers a gentler counterfeit. Obey Christ's commandments today, beginning where feeling or human respect has encouraged delay.

“If it be lawful and expedient to speak, speak then of God and of such things as are to the edifying of thy soul or of thy neighbour's.”
Speech is a stewardship. Our Lady's recollection teaches the pilgrim that silence is not emptiness but a guard placed around charity and truth.
Not every true observation must be spoken, and not every fault must be exposed by you. Before speaking, ask whether the words serve God's truth, a real duty, or the good of a soul. If they serve only irritation, curiosity, or the wish to appear discerning, let silence make the sacrifice.
Today's Practice
Omit unnecessary remarks and use the silence to make holy aspirations.
Before Night Falls
Return the completed day to God.
Give thanks before measuring the day by feeling or visible success. Ask light to see faults without discouragement, make an Act of Contrition, forgive injuries, and place tomorrow beneath divine Providence.
Examine where you sought Christ's comfort while resisting His kingship, and ask pardon through the Sorrowful Mother.
