Ss. Peter and Paul show the visible apostolic order Christ gave His Church: the faith is confessed, authority is received, the Gospel is carried to the nations, and witness is sealed by suffering. Love for the Church therefore rejects both private religion and office emptied of fidelity to revealed truth.
Profess faith in Jesus Christ as true God and true man, and ask His Mother to lead you into complete obedience to Him.

St. Louis de Montfort's grief is not that Our Lady receives too little attention as though she sought a kingdom apart from Christ. He grieves because ignorance of Mary's place accompanies an impoverished knowledge of Jesus. The Son is treated as an idea, a moral teacher, or a source of comfort rather than as the Incarnate King who came through her and demands the whole man.
Ask whether you know Christ only in the truths you prefer. To know Him as He ought to be known is to receive His divinity, His Cross, His Church, His commandments, His sacraments, His judgment, and His mercy without division. Let Mary uncover every partial or comfortable image of Jesus that must give way to the Catholic whole.

Offer the day before spending it
Prayer gives the day its right beginning and its right end. Before work, conversation, news, or distraction claims the mind, adore the Blessed Trinity and offer every prayer, work, joy, suffering, and temptation to Jesus through Mary. Ask your Guardian Angel for help, and place the souls and needs entrusted to you beneath God's will.
Begin simply. Make the Morning Offering through the hands of Our Lady. Pray the Three Hail Marys for purity and final perseverance, ask your Guardian Angel to govern the senses and imagination, and name the soul or intention for which today's prayers and sacrifices will be offered. Do not rush these acts merely because they are familiar; let them place the whole day beneath God before the world begins to claim it.
O Lord Jesus Christ, through Ss. Peter and Paul, keep me firm in the apostolic Faith and generous in labor for souls. Give me hatred of heresy without hatred of persons and perseverance beneath the order Thou established.

At Rome, the birthday of the holy apostles Peter and Paul, who suffered martyrdom on the same day, under the emperor Nero. Within the city the former was crucified with his dead downwards, and buried in the Vatican, near the Triumphal way, where he is venerated by the whole world. The latter was put to the sword and buried on the Ostian way, where he receives similar honors. — At Argenton, St. Marcellus, martyr, who was beheaded for the faith of Christ together with the soldier Anastasius. — At Genoa, the birthday of St. Syrius, bishop. — At Narni, St. Cassius, bishop of that city, of whom St. Gergory relates, that he permitted scarcely any day of his life to pass without offering the victim of propitiation to Almighty God; and he was well worthy to do it, for he distributed in alms all he possessed, and his devotion was such that abundant tears flowed from his eyes during the holy sacrifice. Mary Is Mother of God and Mother of the Faithful
Remain here for a little while. The purpose is not to gather another fact, but to allow today's Catholic truth to judge the heart, strengthen the will, and become an act offered to God.
The Church places this truth before you today: The Blessed Virgin Mary is truly Mother of God, and her maternal office belongs to the order of Christ's Incarnation, Passion, and grace. Do not hurry past it as though doctrine belonged only to books and controversies. A revealed truth is also a light by which the soul must judge its loyalties, its fears, its habits, and the duties immediately before it. Marian doctrine protects the truth about Christ: one divine Person, truly God and truly man, born of the Virgin Mother.
The grace to be practiced is Apostolic firmness and missionary charity, drawn from today's saintly witness. Ask God for more than the natural appearance of this virtue. Temperament may make an action seem easy for a time, but supernatural virtue remains faithful because God is worthy of obedience, even when feeling offers no assistance and no one notices the cost. Practice integrity of faith: receive Christ whole rather than selecting only what consoles or agrees with the age.
There is also an enemy to recognize: Resist every thin devotion that praises Mary while separating her from doctrine, sacrifice, and the life of grace. Do not study this danger only in other people. Look quietly for the door by which it seeks entrance into your own soul - perhaps through delay, curiosity, resentment, human respect, attachment to comfort, or the desire to control the outcome. Dying to self today means choosing apostolic firmness and missionary charity when pride, comfort, fear, resentment, or human respect asks for control.
Do the faithful act and entrust its fruit to divine Providence, God's wise and loving governance of all things. Place effort and outcome into Our Lady's hands so that the whole offering may be presented to her Divine Son. Confidence in God is not passivity: obey, pray, work, and accept that visible success, consolation, or immediate relief may not be given. God remains faithful when the duty is hidden and the outcome uncertain. Therefore, perform the duty that belongs to you, use the lawful means God has provided, and then surrender the fruit. Accept the cost of belonging to the real Christ when the world offers a gentler counterfeit. Obey Christ's commandments today, beginning where feeling or human respect has encouraged delay.

How shall I imitate Christ today?
“The most noble and the most perfect victory is for a man to have the victory of himself.”
Victory over others can feed pride; victory over self-will makes room for Christ. Ask for the grace to conquer the fault that most often conquers you.
Choose the fault by its frequency, not by how dramatic it appears. The repeated impatient tone, indulgent thought, delayed prayer, or unnecessary complaint may govern more of life than a rare great trial. Meet it today at its first small demand, while grace makes refusal possible.

Choose the harder faithful act once, quietly and at once.
Before Night Falls
Return the completed day to God.
Give thanks before measuring the day by feeling or visible success. Ask light to see faults without discouragement, make an Act of Contrition, forgive injuries, and place tomorrow beneath divine Providence.
Examine where you sought Christ's comfort while resisting His kingship, and ask pardon through the Sorrowful Mother.
