The Corpus Christi octave teaches continued hunger for Christ, and Ss. Primus and Felician teach continued fidelity through age and trial. Grace must be guarded for the whole journey: long weariness must not make doctrine, worship, or brotherly courage negotiable near the end.
Ask Our Lady for devotion that is true in doctrine, entire in self-gift, fruitful in virtue, and persevering unto death.
Formation in True Devotion - Day 190: Review and Deepening: Mary's Spiritual Reign and Necessity in God's Order
“It is an infallible mark of reprobation to have no esteem and love for the holy Virgin; while on the other hand it is an infallible mark of predestination to be entirely and truly devoted to her.”
St. Louis de Montfort presents contempt for the Mother of God as a terrible sign and true devotion as a sign of predestination. A sign is not permission to presume. No formula, title, medal, or practice makes deliberate mortal sin safe; neither may a sinner despair, for grace calls him to repentance and a genuine return to Jesus through Mary.
The decisive words are entirely and truly. True devotion honors what Mary honors: her divine Son, His Catholic Faith, His commandments, His Sacrifice, His sacraments, His Cross, and the souls He redeemed. Entire devotion reaches conduct, possessions, reputation, suffering, duties, and final perseverance.

Offer the day before spending it
Prayer gives the day its right beginning and its right end. Before work, conversation, news, or distraction claims the mind, adore the Blessed Trinity and offer every prayer, work, joy, suffering, and temptation to Jesus through Mary. Ask your Guardian Angel for help, and place the souls and needs entrusted to you beneath God's will.
Begin simply. Make the Morning Offering through the hands of Our Lady. Pray the Three Hail Marys for purity and final perseverance, ask your Guardian Angel to govern the senses and imagination, and name the soul or intention for which today's prayers and sacrifices will be offered. Do not rush these acts merely because they are familiar; let them place the whole day beneath God before the world begins to claim it.
O Eucharistic Lord, sustain Thy faithful through age, fatigue, and long trial. Through Thy martyrs, make companions strengthen one another until the end.

Pope St. Gregory the Great, Homily 30 on the Gospels
“The test, then, of love, is whether it is showed by works.”
- The Breviary keeps Pentecost with the Gospel promise that the Father and the Son will make Their abode in the soul that loves Christ and keeps His word.
- St. Gregory teaches that the Holy Ghost is love, visibly shown under the form of fire and inwardly poured into hearts.
- Love of God is proved by obedience; a soul that follows unlawful desires while refusing God's will does not possess the love it professes.
Ask for the fire that makes obedience possible. Pentecost is not religious excitement, but charity poured into the soul so that Christ's word is kept.

Obedience Serves Truth
Remain here for a little while. The purpose is not to gather another fact, but to allow today's Catholic truth to judge the heart, strengthen the will, and become an act offered to God.
The Church places this truth before you today: Catholic obedience is a virtue ordered to God and His truth. It is not servility before contradiction or unlawful command. Do not hurry past it as though doctrine belonged only to books and controversies. A revealed truth is also a light by which the soul must judge its loyalties, its fears, its habits, and the duties immediately before it. Authority is real because it comes from God, but it remains ministerial. It cannot command against the faith it exists to guard.
The grace to be practiced is Docility to the Spirit of truth, drawn from today's saintly witness. Ask God for more than the natural appearance of this virtue. Temperament may make an action seem easy for a time, but supernatural virtue remains faithful because God is worthy of obedience, even when feeling offers no assistance and no one notices the cost. Reject both presumption and despair; labor faithfully with grace, trusting God's mercy and fearing every willing separation from Him.
There is also an enemy to recognize: Resist both rebellion against true authority and false obedience to commands that betray doctrine. Do not study this danger only in other people. Look quietly for the door by which it seeks entrance into your own soul - perhaps through delay, curiosity, resentment, human respect, attachment to comfort, or the desire to control the outcome. Dying to self today means choosing docility to the Spirit of truth when pride, comfort, fear, resentment, or human respect asks for control.
Do the faithful act and entrust its fruit to divine Providence, God's wise and loving governance of all things. Place effort and outcome into Our Lady's hands so that the whole offering may be presented to her Divine Son. Confidence in God is not passivity: obey, pray, work, and accept that visible success, consolation, or immediate relief may not be given. God remains faithful when the duty is hidden and the outcome uncertain. Therefore, perform the duty that belongs to you, use the lawful means God has provided, and then surrender the fruit. Accept the conversion required to make your Marian profession truthful where habitual conduct has contradicted it. Honor Our Lady throughout the day by obeying her Son, avoiding every occasion of sin, professing His Faith, and serving souls.

“We be all frail: but thou shalt judge no man more frail than thyself.”
Catholic judgment rejects error without forgetting one's own need of mercy. Let vigilance begin with the disorder nearest at hand: your own.
You need not call falsehood harmless in order to be humble. Humility simply refuses to use another person's fault as shelter from repentance. Condemn what God condemns, pray for the soul in danger, and then ask whether the same root - pride, fear, sensuality, or human respect - has found a quieter form in you.
Today's Practice
When another's fault irritates you, pray for that soul and examine the same root in yourself.
Before Night Falls
Return the completed day to God.
Give thanks before measuring the day by feeling or visible success. Ask light to see faults without discouragement, make an Act of Contrition, forgive injuries, and place tomorrow beneath divine Providence.
Test devotion by its fruits, repent of contradiction between profession and life, and entrust final perseverance to Our Lady.
