Despair gives up hope in God's mercy, help, or forgiveness. It is the opposite wound from presumption: before sin, the tempter says mercy is easy; after sin, he says return is impossible.
What This Error Does
It makes sin appear stronger than Christ. It stops motion toward prayer, confession, counsel, reparation, and the next act of .
calls the sinner back. whispers that return is useless and that shame is proof the soul cannot go home.
How To Respond
Trust God's mercy, confess sin, begin again, and refuse the lie that repentance is too late while life remains. Sin is real; Christ is stronger.
