Religious Liberty / Rights of Error
Watchtower of Errors: doctrines named clearly from the safety of truth so they can be resisted.
Religious liberty, when understood as a right of error before God, is liberalism applied to worship. It teaches that false religion may claim public dignity against the reign of Christ.
What This Error Does
It makes error appear honorable and truth appear oppressive. Once false worship is treated as a right, Catholics are trained to feel ashamed of wanting its defeat by conversion.
proclaims Christ's rights over men and nations. grants public room to every false worship and calls that neutrality peace.
How To Respond
Distinguish prudential toleration from a supposed right of error. Error may sometimes be tolerated to avoid greater evils, but it has no right against truth.
